A Vermont woman was cited with following too closely after she caused a five-car crash Sunday on Interstate 78 in Glendon, Pennsylvania State Police say.
Emily Price, 21, of Jericho, Vermont, was unable to stop as traffic slowed at 4:40 p.m. in the left-most westbound lane, police said.
Price's car struck the car in front of her, driven by Debbie Doyle, 46, of Arlington, Virginia, which then struck the car in front of her, driven by David Vanliew, 63, of Allentown, police said.
That crash caused a further chain reaction, with a car driven by Stephanie Barry, 20, of Roslyn Heights, New York, striking Price's car and Robert Meyers, 56, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, then striking Barry's car, police said.
Meyers' passenger, Elfriede Tangert, 93, of Lancaster, suffered moderate injuries in the crash while six others suffered minor injuries, including Price, police said.
