La Crosse, WI : Minnesota man killed during a head-on traffic crash on Tuesday, November, 7th 2017

Authorities on Tuesday identified Robert Wiemerslage as the Minnesota man killed during a head-on traffic crash early Monday in Crawford County.

Wiemerslage, 63, of Spring Grove, slumped over at the wheel of his semi while driving west on Hwy. 18 about 9 a.m., according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

The semi then struck a pickup truck head-on and pushed it 300 feet. Wiemerslage was pronounced dead at a hospital, and his passenger, 65-year-old Mary Agnes Wiemerslage, had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the department.

The driver of the Ford, Raul Alexis Rivera Negron, 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was extricated and flown to a La Crosse hospital with broken bones and possible internal injuries, according to the department.
