CINCINNATI, OH : 1 dead, 2 injured after pickup crashes into pedestrian on sidewalk in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue on Sunday, 30th August, 2020

One person is dead and two others are injured after a pickup truck crashed into a group of pedestrians on the sidewalk in Cincinnati’s South Fairmount neighborhood, police said.

The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue.According to police, three people were on the sidewalk when they were struck by a northbound 2010 Ford F-150.

That pickup truck left the road and traveled up onto the sidewalk for unknown reasons, investigators with the Cincinnati Police Department said.

Ronald Bardo, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others on the sidewalk with Bardo were treated for minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 20-year-old man, also suffered minor injuries, but did not require medical treatment, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
