Franklin County, MO : Woman killed, five others injured in four-vehicle crash near Union on Thursday afternoon, February 4, 2016
A woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash near Union, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
The woman was identified as Rhonda L. Johnson, 52, of Lonedell. She was driving a Honda SUV north on Highway 47 crossed the center line and struck two southbound vehicles about 12:55 p.m., said Sgt. Al Nothum of the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Johnson died at the crash scene. Her husband, Stanley Johnson, 57, a passenger in the SUV, as moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Washington.
A tire from her SUV struck a car driven by Carol A. Lewallen, 67, of St. Clair. She suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to Mercy.
A man in one of the southbound vehicles suffered minor injuries and a woman and a 5-year-old girl, in the other southbound vehicle, also suffered minor injuries. They were also treated at Mercy.
The Johnsons were not wearing seat belts and all others involved in the crash were, the patrol said.
