Glenbrook , NV : 27- Years old Carson City man was killed after Crash at Mountain Highway on Wednesday morning , January 14th 2015

The Nevada Highway Patrol suspects alcohol played a role in a single-vehicle rollover that claimed the life of a 27-year-old Carson City man on a mountain highway at Lake Tahoe near Glenbrook.

Trooper David Gibson says Joseph Winters was killed in the crash on U.S. Highway 50 just south of Glenbrook about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

A preliminary investigation suggests he lost control of the 2001 Jeep Wrangler and drove onto the shoulder where he struck the guardrail twice. The Jeep spun around, crossed both travel lanes and struck a curb before it overturned, ejecting Winters.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gibson says it appears Winters was not wearing a seat belt. He says alcohol is suspected to have been a factor but the crash remains under investigation.
