Belle Chasse, LA : Man from New Orleans died Monday evening in a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 23 September 1st 2014

State police say a New Orleans man died Monday evening in a single-vehicle wreck on Louisiana Highway 23 in Plaquemines Parish. Troopers say the accident happened at about 6 p.m. The victim was identified as Joseph Chevis. Investigators say Chevis was driving a Chevrolet Suburban southbound when he drove off the highway and through a fence. The vehicle struck an embankment before coming to a stop in front of a house.
