ROY, UT : Name of man killed in 3-car crash on Midland Drive released on Wednesday, 28th September 2016

Police have released the name of the man who was killed in a 3-car crash Wednesday night on Midland Drive in Roy.

Carey Mikesell, 59, died at the scene of the crash at 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of 3100 West and Midland Drive, Roy Police Detective Josh Taylor said.

Mikesell was driving north on Midland Drive when he struck a car turning south from 3100 West, Taylor said. His car then went into oncoming traffic and was hit by a southbound SUV.

The driver of the car turning from 3100 West was a 16-year-old male who was transported to the hospital, he said. The SUV was occupied by a mother and her adolescent son; the woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance and the son by a family member. Taylor said none of those people suffered injuries which are expected to be life-threatening.

Midland Drive was closed between 4000 South and 4600 South for several hours as police investigated the crash, Taylor said.
