SELAH, WA : Ellensburg driver injured in Monday afternoon crash on Monday, July 10, 2017

The Washington State Patrol said it expects to cite a Yakima man for following too close and causing a Monday afternoon crash just south of Selah.

Troopers say Eduardo Cuevas, 29, was headed north around 5:30 p.m. on State Route 823 when he crashed his 2008 Chevrolet Impala into a 2011 Dodge Avenger driven by Beneitta E. Eaton, 89, of Ellensburg.

Troopers said Eaton had stopped for traffic when her car was struck.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the State Patrol said.

Eaton was taken to Virginia Mason Memorial hospital, where she was treated and released.

Cuevas was not injured in the crash.
