Marion County, FL : Jason Cotton, 37, and Allison Hartwig, 29, dead in motorcycle crash in Ocala on Wednesday night, April 8, 2015

Two people riding on a motorcycle were killed in a crash in Marion County Wednesday night.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest 140th Avenue and Southwest 85 Place in Ocala.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Jason Cotton, 37 of Dunnellon, and Allison Hartwig, 29, also of Dunnellon were riding a motorcycle when Dana Roberts, 16, of Dunnellon pulled out in front of them.

Both Cotton and Hartwig were thrown from the motorcycle. Hartwig landed in the middle of the road and was then hit by two vehicles after those drivers hit the motorcycle.

Hartwig was pronounced dead at the scene. Cotton was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he died a short time later.
FHP said the investigation continues and charges are pending.
