Brooklyn ,NY : Woman on motorized scooter struck and killed while crossing Brooklyn street on Tuesday ,August 25th,2015

A woman riding a motorized scooter was struck and killed while crossing a Brooklyn street.

Police say 52-year-old Carol Carboni was crossing Nostrand Avenue when a car hit her as it made a left turn from Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the Brooklyn resident suffered severe head trauma. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

The driver remained on the scene. No charges were filed.
