STERLING, IL : Two people hurt Sunday in rollover crash on Sunday, November 20th 2016
Two people suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle rollover crash near the Avenue G bridge.
The Sterling Police Department responded at 2:59 p.m. to Avenue G and West Third Street where they found a vehicle driven by Susan R. Pennell, 27, of Rock Falls on its roof. Police say Pennell was southbound on Avenue G when she failed to stop for a red light and collided with a vehicle headed eastbound on West Third Street, driven by Mitchell R. Dodge, 47, of Morrison. Pennell’s vehicle rolled once, coming to rest on its roof.
Dodge’s wife, Amy Dodge, 43, and their 12-year-old son were taken to CGH Medical Center in Sterling by CGH EMS for minor injuries. Their conditions were unavailable Sunday. Neither Pennell nor Mitchell Dodge were injured.
Pennell was given a citation for disobeying a traffic control signal and released on a promise to comply.
