Tyler, TX : Woman dies after crashing into church on Sunday night, February 7, 2016
A woman is dead after crashing her vehicle into a church Sunday night.
Tyler Police Department responded to a call about a wreck in the 600 block of Glenwood Boulevard at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a white pickup had left the roadway and struck the northeast corner of Dale Chapel Baptist Church.
The pickup was badly damaged, and the occupant, Vanelle Bagwell, 67, was unconscious and pinned inside. No one was inside the church at the time.
Tyler Fire Department freed Bagwell from the vehicle, and she was taken to East Texas Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
