Hammond, LA : Three killed in a evening two-vehicle crash at U.S. 51 On Monday, July 11th, 2016
Three Kentwood residents died in a wreck Monday near Fluker.
Kaleb Collette, 28, and his passengers, Kenneth Parnell, 27, and Lee Ross, 27, died in the two-vehicle crash on U.S. 51 about 5:45 p.m. Monday, according to state police.
Collette's 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck was southbound and the traffic ahead was slowing to a stop due to a vehicle being stuck in the driveway of a private residence adjacent to U.S. 51, troopers said. For reasons still under
investigation, Collette did not stop his truck and it crashed into the rear of a 2015 Western Star Tractor Trailer driven by David James, 46, of Amite.
Neither Collette nor Parnell and Ross had on their seat belts, troopers said.
All three died from injuries sustained in the crash and were pronounced dead on the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office.
Blood samples were obtained and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, trooper said.
