Two men were killed and a woman was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash late Monday night along I-4 in Volusia County that closed the highway for several hours, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-4 near Saxon Boulevard (mile marker 107) in Deltona around 10:25 p.m., troopers said.
George Justiniano, 27, of Deltona, was in a 2002 Ford Mustang and failed to slow down, striking the rear of a 1997 Ford pickup truck being driven by Ernest Stickle, 35, of Springfield, Maryland, troopers said.
The pickup truck traveled off the roadway and into the median and then overturned over the guardrail.
Stickle and his passenger, 21-year-old Shane Fleming, of Sanford, were ejected from the truck. They both were pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger, 21-year-old Payton Moose, of Deltona, was extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Justiniano sustained minor injuries, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
