A 50-year-old Oak Hills man was killed in a solo vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Lancaster, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on State Route 138 west of 300th Street West at about 1:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car, veered to the left across the double yellow lines and into the westbound lane, officials said in a statement. The pick-up truck then overturned, ejecting the driver onto the pavement. The driver, who had not been identified as of Sunday afternoon, died as a result of his injuries, officials said.
“Alcohol is suspected to be a factor at this time and this collision remains under investigation,” according to the statement.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and it was not known how fast he was driving, officials said. No one else was injured in the incident.
