Westminster, MD : Car crashed into a house in the 1900 block of Baltimore Pike on Monday, October 13, 2014
Amber Murphy was at work when she got the news - a car had crashed into her house in West Manheim Township.
Murphy, a teacher at a school in Westminster, Maryland, immediately thought of her three dogs, two Newfoundlands and one deaf Great Dane.
What if they're not safe, she remembered asking herself.
Murphy arrived at the 1900 block of Baltimore Pike on Monday to find Thunder, Tito and Nieve uninjured after a Honda Accord crashed into her residence.
"My babies are OK," she said, glancing at the hole in the side of her home, where minutes before the Honda hovered several feet above the ground. "That's all that matters."
Police at the scene said they did not know the extent of the damage to the house or to the vehicle.
The female driver, the only person in the Honda at the time of the crash, suffered minor injuries, said Sgt. Toby Wildasin of West Manheim Township Police Department.
Police responded to the call around 1:35 p.m. Traffic was congested on Baltimore Pike between Fairfield Drive and Country Lane for about an hour after the crash.
