Fountain police arrested a 41-year-old man Monday on suspicion of leaving the scene of a Saturday fatal crash.
Richard Bitters was arrested and booked into El Paso County jail after "a citizen tip" helped investigators identify him as a suspect in the hit-and-run that fatally injured 57-year-old Mario Michael Wells, police said.
Bitters will be held on $10,000 bond, police said.
The crash happened about 8:40 p.m. near U.S. 85 and Fontaine Boulevard, police said. Wells died of his injuries Sunday morning.
