Miami,FL : wife seriously injured in crash on August, Wednesday 2nd 2017

A 23-year Miami police officer and his wife are recovering in a Tennessee hospital after being involved in a head-on crash caused by an impaired driver, according to Miami police.

Det. Antonio “Tony” Torres and his wife, Carol, were seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit.

The driver of the other car was under the influence of alcohol and methamphetamines, and was arrested by local authorities, Miami police said.

Torres and his wife both underwent surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Torres, who was listed in serious condition, was scheduled for surgery later this week. His wife was listed in stable condition, police said.
