WHITE?HALL, WV : A stolen vehicle in a car crash on Middletown Road on Tuesday, October, 17th 2017
White Hall, West Virginia
A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle Tuesday night ended in a car crash on Middletown Road.
Around 9 p.m., Deputy Chief Davis with the White Hall Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the Walmart in White Hall. Davis said that a check on the vehicle’s registration revealed it had been reported stolen.
The truck then fled from Davis, heading down Middletown Road, where it eventually crashed.
A male was driving the vehicle, and a female was in the passenger seat. Alcohol was also present in the car, but Davis said he did not know what the driver’s level of intoxication was.
Both the male and female, whom Davis did not identify, were led away from the scene in handcuffs and placed in separate vehicles.
Neither the male nor female was taken away in the ambulances on scene, and both appeared to be uninjured.
Davis said he will be charging the driver with fleeing and evading, and that the Marion County Sheriff’s Department will be handling the stolen vehicle charge.
He was unsure if the female would be charged in relation to the stolen vehicle.
