Indianapolis, IN : Johnson County pursuit ends in Indy crash on Wednesday, January 11th 2017
A police pursuit that began in Johnson County Wednesday afternoon ended in a crash on Indianapolis' east side.
The pursuit began when the Johnson County Sheriff's Department found a red Chevrolet Camaro matching the description of an armed robbery suspect on I-65 in Johnson County, according to a news release.
After officials attempted to stop the car, the driver fled northbound on I-65, continuing into Marion County, exiting at Raymond Street. The pursuit continued into the city and the car eventually became airborne after crossing railroad tracks, crashing into another car in the 200 block of East Shelby Street.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated and released at the scene. Indiana State Police has not released any information about the suspect or victim.
ISP is investigating the crash, the Johnson County Sheriff's Department is investigating the pursuit and the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department is investigating the armed robbery, which took place in Edinburgh, Ind.
