Lee County, FL : 39-year-old Christopher Collins dies after Hit-run crash on I-75 in Lee County on Sunday morning, February 8, 2015

Troopers confirm an early morning crash Sunday took the life of a pedestrian along I-75 Lee County.

They identify 39-year-old Christopher Collins of Fort Myers as the pedestrian who walking on the northbound lanes of I-75 near the Corkscrew Road exit just after 5 a.m.

The driver of a Toyota Camry, 84-year-old Nicholas Perrone of Newton Square, PA, hit Collins who FHP says "failed to observe the vehicle in the lane."

Perrone, his passengers, Patricia Perrone and Jean Marie Perrone received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash. The three in the car were all wearing seatbelts.
