Omaha,NE : Six hospitalized after two crashes in Omaha on may, Monday 22th 2017
Two crashes sent six people to the hospital Monday evening.
The first was reported at 6:53 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 east of the 36th Street overpass. Four Omaha 19-year-olds were injured in the one-vehicle crash.
Andersen Drake Smith suffered a life-threatening head injury and was being treated at Creighton University Medical Center, said Omaha police Sgt. Jason Menning, an accident investigator.
Skye A. Manley also went to Creighton with a dislocated hip, Menning said.
The other two went to Nebraska Medical Center: Victoria E. Quinn was treated for aches and pains and D'Angelo A. Limones for a broken nose, the sergeant said.
The four had been traveling in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer in a far-right lane that eventually splits to the south. The SUV went out of control, crossing six other eastbound lanes and colliding with a concrete center median, according to police. No one was using seat belts, Menning said.
Charges were pending for Limones, the driver.
The crash shut down two lanes of traffic for about an hour and a half. The Nebraska State Patrol assisted with traffic control.
