SANDERS, AZ : 1 killed in crash involving semi-trucks near Arizona-New Mexico border on Friday, 30th August 2024
At least one person has died after a crash involving semi-trucks on a freeway near the Arizona-New Mexico border early Friday morning.
According to the Department of Public Safety, around 3 a.m., a semi-truck sideswiped another semi that was heading eastbound on Interstate 40 east of Sanders, which is roughly 20 miles from the New Mexico border.
Authorities say the crash caused the at-fault driver to lose control and slam into the overpass. The truck went up in flames and was left hanging off the overpass. That driver was killed, authorities confirmed.
One other driver was taken to the hospital.
