Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Fort Wayne after fleeing from a police officer at speeds reaching nearly 120 mph. The Allen County Sheriff's Department says the chase began Tuesday night after the officer spotted the motorcyclist speeding away from a group of motorcycle riders on Airport Expressway near Fort Wayne International Airport. Department spokesman Adam Griffith says the officer tried to stop the motorcyclist, but soon broke off the chase as the motorcycle continued speeding away. Adam Griffith says that a few minutes later officers found the motorcycle had gone off a road about a mile away. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene southwest of the city.
