Biddeford, ME : NY man dies from injuries in motorcycle crash on Route 111 in Alfred on Monday afternoon, June 13, 2016
A 36-year-old man from New York died Monday afternoon following a motorcycle collision on Route 111 in Alfred.
The crash occurred about 2 p.m,,said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for Maine Public Safety. Robert Locke, 36, of Lynbrook, N.Y., was riding to Laconia, New Hampshire, with a group of friends when he swerved to avoid a car turning onto a side street. McCausland said the man hit another rider when he lost control of his motorcycle, and was ejected from his bike onto the pavement.
The man was wearing a helmet but sustained fatal injuries. He was transported to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, where he later died.
