Kansas City, KS : Richmond, Mo., teen is killed in Clay County crash on Sunday evening, July 10, 2016

A 19-year-old Richmond, Mo., man was killed Sunday evening in a crash in Clay County.

The victim was identified as Luke A. Hubbard, who was a passenger in the vehicle. The wreck occurred on Route MM west of Tevis Road.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. when the 20-year-old driver, identified as Alisha E. Weir, also of Richmond, was westbound and she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck two trees.

Hubbard, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Weir sustained serious injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
