CLARKSVILLE, TN : Driver involved in Clarksville crash has criminal history on Sunday, December 4th, 2016
Four people were injured in a high-impact crash in Clarksville on Sunday morning.
According to Clarksville Police, a silver Hyundai Sonata left the roadway near Governor’s Square Mall and slammed into a retaining wall shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday at what police call a significant rate of speed.
The call was dispatched at 11 a.m. District Three Patrol Officer Coz Minetos was the first to arrive at 11:02 a.m. Minetos called it “one of the most dramatic impacts I’ve ever seen.”
Minetos said the retaining wall was pushed back by the crash.
“I’m surprised they’re all alive,” he said.
Police have identified 30-year-old Derek Doker as the driver of the Sonata.
Doker has a suspended driver's license and previous arrests for driving on a suspended license and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
The Sonata had been rented by one of the three women inside the car, according to police.
Two of the women were taken to Tennova Hospital for their injuries.The other woman and Doker were taken to Skyline Hospital in Nashville.
Police said syringes were found inside the vehicle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police said criminal charges are pending.
