Man Killed In Coronado Multi-Car Crash Identified
Authorities released the name Thursday of a 95-year-old man killed in a traffic accident on the Silver Strand Highway.
Stevens Friedman of Coronado was a passenger in a car that collided with at least one other vehicle on the north-south boulevard alongside San Diego Bay shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Medics freed Friedman from the car, then pronounced him dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The accident sent three other people to hospitals and left a stretch of the roadway near the Coronado Cays closed for several hours, police spokeswoman Lea Corbin said.
