AURORA, CO : 1 dead after fatal car crash on I-225 on Monday, 5th October, 2020

One person has died after a fatal car crash Monday morning on northbound Interstate 225 near Iliff Avenue, according to Aurora police and the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Police arrived on scene at about 6:15 a.m. According to their investigation, a Dodge Charger entered I-225 on Iliff driving southbound in the northbound lanes. The Charger struck the passenger side of a Chevrolet Silverado. Then the Charger continued south and hit a Mazda SUV head-on. The driver of the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mazda was sent to a hospital. They are in “serious condition with life-threatening injuries,” according to Aurora police.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
