Lee County, FL : 14-year-old bicyclist injured after crash with PT Cruiser on Monday, December 29, 2014

A 14-year-old Fort Myers boy was seriously injured while riding his bike after colliding with a vehicle along US-41/Del Prado Boulevard in Lee County around 6:15 pm on Monday.

According to FHP, no charges are issued after a 61-year-old driver traveling north on the inside lane of US-41 south of Del Prado Boulevard collided with the teen's bike.

The bike was traveling east on the south crosswalk of US-41 and failed to observe the car as it approached the intersection of Del Prado Blvd.

The front of the bike subsequently collided with the right portion of the vehicle.

The teen was taken to Health Park by EMS prior to FHP arriving - and witnesses told authorities the driver of the car had the right of way with a green light.
