Three people are dead after a Sunday evening two-vehicle crash in south Houston, authorities confirmed.
Houston Fire Department and Houston police swarmed the scene along State Highway 288 at Bellfort around 5 p.m.
One car ended up on its side, and a rescuer climbed on top to pull out at least one person. As the wreck started backing up traffic, drivers detoured onto the grassy median to get around.
Police shut down all south bound traffic at the scene as authorities worked to clear the road.
