Baltimore , MD : Wrongway driver killed and another vehicle driver seriously injured in Crash after His car hit an oncoming vehicle at Gist Avenue on Sunday , March 8th 2015

A man driving the wrong way on W. Northern Parkway was killed in a head-on crash early Sunday, Baltimore police said.

The man, whom police did not identify, was driving west in the eastbound traffic lanes just before 5 a.m., police said. His car hit an oncoming vehicle at Gist Avenue, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle he hit was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital. He is in stable condition, police said.

Police are investigating why the driver was heading the wrong way.
