Monessen, PA : Claysville woman killed in I-70 crash in Washington County on Sunday, November 6, 2016

A woman died Sunday when she crashed her sport-utility vehicle into a large metal pole and was ejected on Interstate 70 in Washington County.

Coroner S. Timothy Warco identified the victim as Christina Noel, 37, of Claysville.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. in North Franklin Township when Noel lost control of her Nissan Xterra and went over a guide rail, state police said.

The SUV struck a pole that supports an electronic traffic sign and landed on its roof.

Noel crawled out of her vehicle and was being treated in the back of an ambulance when she succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead at 12:03 p.m., Warco said.
