State police say a southern New Jersey man was hospitalized in critical condition after he and his three children were thrown from an all-terrain vehicle he was driving.

NJ.com reports troopers from the Woodstown barracks responded to reports of an ATV accident at the Battiato farm on Quaker Neck Road around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Sgt. Jeff Flynn says 45-year-old farm owner Frank Battiato was operating the ATV on his property when he lost control of the vehicle.

The ATV overturned and Battiato was ejected along with his three children who were riding as his passengers.

Police say Battiato was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in Camden, where he remained in critical, but stable condition on Wednesday.

The children, who weren't identified, were treated for minor injuries before being released.
