2 killed in traffic accidents Prince George
Two young men were killed late Monday and early Tuesday in seperate crashes in Prince George’s County, police said.Roberto Reyes, 18, was killed early Tuesday in Capitol Heights when a vehicle struck the rear end of the motorbike he was driving, Prince George's County police spokesman Cpl. Evan Baxter said. The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Central Avenue and Jonquil Avenue.
Both Mr. Reyes, of the 5300 block of Quincy Place in Hyattsville, and a 32-year-old male passenger were thrown from the bike. The passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries and Mr. Reyes died on the scene.
Police are looking for anyone with information about the vehicle that struck the motorbike.
A 19-year-old Upper Marlboro man was killed in a separate single-vehicle car crash around 11 p.m. Monday.The driver, Kerel Cheeks, lost control of his Buick LeSabre and struck a tree near the intersection of Harry S. Truman Drive and New Orchard Drive in Largo, Cpl. Baxter said. An 18-year-old passenger was also injuried in the crash and taken to a local hospital.
