WESTFORD, MA : Westford woman in fatal crash on Interstate 495 on Wednesday, 27th June 2018
The Westford woman who drove the wrong way on Interstate 495 causing a head-on crash that killed a Worcester man earlier this month was under the influence of alcohol, authorities say.
Julie Gagnon-Erickson, 45, is charged with felony motor vehicular homicide while operating under the influence of alcohol in connection with the June 8 crash that killed 35-year-old Raming Medina Cabreja, according to a press release from the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
Gagnon-Erickson was arraigned in Ayer District Court on Wednesday, where Judge Barbara Pearson released Gagnon-Erickson on her own recognizance.
The 45-year-old was ordered to remain under house arrest, and to not consume un-prescribed medication or alcohol. She must also surrender her passport and undergo a mental health evaluation.
Gagnon-Erickson is slated to reappear in court July 27.
