Monroe,MI : Ann Arbor man critically injured in crash on November, Friday 10th 2017
An Ann Arbor man was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of N. Telegraph and Stumpmier Rd. in Frenchtown Township Friday.
The crash occurred around 6:25 a.m.
Bekele Lessanework, 55, of Brownstown was driving a 2017 Mack truck south on N. Telegraph Rd. As he entered the intersection, the truck collided with a 2013 Dodge Dart operated by Todd M. Carpenter, 56, of Ann Arbor.
Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said Carpenter did not stop at the stop sign on westbound Stumpmier Road and failed to yield for the truck.
Carpenter was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo where he was listed in critical condition.
Monroe Community Ambulance and the Frenchtown Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Ian Glick of the sheriff’s Uniform Services Division.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
