DEVILS LAKE, ND : Grand Forks man, 50, killed in crash on Highway 2 on Tuesday, 18th September 2018

A 50-year-old Grand Forks man was killed Tuesday, Sept. 18, after his vehicle struck a truck on Highway 2, about six miles east of here.
The unnamed driver of a 2016 Kia Sportage died at the scene of the crash, which the North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to around 3 p.m. Tuesday.Sgt. Ryan Panasuk said in a media release that Trenton Beckedahl, 47, of Devils Lake, was driving a 2014 Mack truck and pulling an empty trailer when the Kia struck the rear of the Mack.
Beckedahl was preparing to turn left from eastbound lanes of the highway while the Kia was also traveling east.
Eastbound lanes were briefly obstructed while authorities dealt with the crash, which remains under investigation.
The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending family notification.
