A motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday in connection with a crash that injured a landscape worker in Thousand Oaks, officials said.

The crash was reported about 9:45 a.m. on the Lynn Road on-ramp of southbound Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 57-year-old motorcyclist from Thousand Oaks failed to negotiate a curve on the on-ramp and hit a 33-year-old Sylmar man doing landscape work, the CHP said. The man was working for a Caltrans subcontractor, officials said. The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, and it fell over and crashed, authorities said.

The Ventura County Fire Department responded and took both men to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, officials said.

The landscaper was admitted to the Thousand Oaks hospital with a fractured leg and pelvis, said CHP Officer Marco Marin. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, the CHP said.

The ramp was closed from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. while the crash was investigated, officials said.
