SHERIDAN, NY : Indiana man killed in crash on western NY section of Thruway on Wednesday, 14th September 2016
Authorities say an Indiana man has died after his pickup truck was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on a western stretch of New York’s Thruway, closing an eastbound section of the highway for several hours.
The state police Thruway detail says the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 90 between Exit 59 and Exit 58 in the Chautauqua (shuh-TAW’-kwuh) County town of Sheridan, 30 miles southwest of Buffalo.
Troopers say a tractor-trailer rear ended 81-year-old Rush Addair’s pickup, causing it to overturn. The Indianapolis man was ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old Indianapolis woman riding with him suffered minor injuries.
A 41-year-old Canadian man driving the tractor-trailer wasn’t injured.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
