Mitchell County, TX : 84-year-old Arizona woman killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near Loraine on Sunday, May 1, 2016

An 84-year-old Arizona woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Mitchell County on Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported Wednesday.

The woman was identified as Margaret L. Renner, of Phoenix. She was driving a 2005 Cadillac CTS east on I-20 near Loraine about 1:15 p.m. Sunday. The DPS reported she was traveling in the left lane when she apparently veered to the left and over the rumble strips, causing her to overcorrect to the right, then back to the left.

The car crashed into a concrete wall and rolled over onto its top, blocking both lanes of traffic.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Charles Renner, 87, was treated and released from the Mitchell County Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Curtis Woodard.
