BRUNSWICK, GA : Brunswick man killed, passenger injured in Friday night crash on Sunday, March 24th 2017
A Brunswick man died Friday and his passenger was injured in a pickup truck crash on U.S. 17, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Peyton Ryan McNabb, 25, was driving his a 2004 Dodge Ram on U.S. just north of the Sidney Lanier Bridge when the truck left the northbound lanes and went into the median, the state patrol said in a report.The truck traveled 275 feet in the grassed median before its undercarriage caught and caused the truck to flip for about 50 feet before going into the southbound lanes of the four lane highway, the state patrol said.
The truck began to overturn ejecting McNabb, who was not wearing a safety belt, onto the roadway and the vehicle continued until coming to rest in the edge of a marsh west of the highway, the state patrol said.
McNabb was dead at the scene and his passenger, Kristy Nicole Nix, 32, was taken to a hospital for her injuries, the report said.
