Culpeper,VI : A 53-year-old Culpeper woman died following a single-vehicle crash on June, Sunday 25th 2017

A 53-year-old Culpeper woman died following a single-vehicle crash on Batna Road Sunday evening, according to the Virginia State Police.

Christine Verhagen was in a 2009 Hyundai when her car left the road, hit an embankment and overturned before ejecting her from the vehicle. The crash happened about a mile south of Germanna Highway (Route 3) in the Stevensburg area of Culpeper County around 11:42 p.m.


Neither drugs nor alcohol seem to be a factor in this crash. Verhagen, who was not wearing her seat belt, died at the scene, according to VSP spokesman Sgt. Les Tyler.

VSP trooper D.B. Vaden responded to the scene and is in charge of this investigation.
