OKLAHOMA CITY, OK : 19-Year-Old Dies After Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Her Head-On on Sunday, 4th October, 2020

An alleged drunk driver is now accused of leaving the scene after a head-on collision killed a UCO student on the Kilpatrick Turnpike.
According to troopers, Malcolm Penney was drunk behind the wheel and driving in the wrong direction when he collided head-on into a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Marissa Murrow.

Emergency responders spent 20 minutes using the jaws of life to cut Murrow from mangled steel.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Murrow later died at a metro hospital. According to social media posts, Murrow graduated from Mustang High School.

A GoFundMe has since been organized by her sorority Sigma Kappa. The account has already raised more than $16,000 to help with funeral costs.

According to the account, Murrow's fellow sorority sisters hope to bring awareness to drunk driving while "also showing the world how bright Marissa continues to shine."

Penney was arrested on a complaint of second-degree murder and driving under the influence. In 2011, Penney pleaded guilty to DUI in Oklahoma County, according to court records.
