Belgrade, MN : Teen killed in crash near Belgrade on Saturday, March 4, 2017

A teen was killed Saturday after going off the road in a pickup and colliding with a tree, according to a release from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

The release said the sheriff's department responded to a reported vehicle collision shortly before 10 a.m. on Stearns County Road 197, just two miles south of Belgrade.

Deputies said a 1997 Chevy pickup was southbound on County Road 197 when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The pickup up was driven by Austin Young, 16, of Belgrade. There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time.

Young was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. The crash is still under investigation.
