DETROIT, MI : 5-year-old girl seriously hurt in crash on Saturday, 16th November 2024

A vigil was held Saturday for a 7-year-old boy killed by an alleged drunk driver.

The crash happened at 7 Mile and Mound Road in Detroit on Nov. 9. Jerome Coleman Junior was killed in the crash and his 5-year-old sister was seriously hurt.

One week later, dozens of family members and friends gathered at the scene to create a memorial of candles and balloons in his honor.

Coleman was with his family heading to a housewarming party when an alleged drunk driver ran a red light and hit their car.

“This vigil meant a lot because this is the last spot where my son took his last breath,” Coleman’s father, Jerome Coleman Sr. said.
