Bellingham,WA : Wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon on October, Wednesday 4th 2017

A Covington man faces drunken-driving and other charges in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon that involved two Bellingham women early Wednesday, authorities said.

Ryan M. Lund, 28, was taken by ambulance to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the 4:13 a.m. wreck, the Washington State Patrol said. He repeatedly ignored a state trooper’s orders to pull over and drove past a roadblock, crashing head-on into drivers who stopped on the freeway near milepost 226, said Trooper Heather Axtman.
Lund was in critical condition Wednesday, a nursing supervisor said.
