Methuen , MA : 28- Years old man was killed and another man was injured after Car breaks down and sruck by SUV at Route 495 on Saturday, December 20th 2014

Police investigated a fatal crash on Route 495 near Methuen Saturday afternoon after a man who stopped in the breakdown lane was struck by an SUV.

State Police said a 28-year-old man's vehicle broke down near exit 46 on the northbound side of the highway. He was standing outside his vehicle when he was struck another car. He was transported to Lawrence General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle, 39-year-old Anthony Passerini of Methuen, was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
