Tigard ,OR ;Police identify motorcyclist killed in crash on Hwy 99W on Thursday ,June 25th 2015

Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision involving a car on Highway 99W at Walnut Street in Tigard.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police said William Tyrone Cummings, 57, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Highway 99 when he crashed into a car that was turning from northbound 99 onto Walnut Street.

The driver of the car, Donald Fournier, 71, was not injured. Cummings died at the scene.

Tigard police said Fournier did not receive a citation for the crash.

All southbound lanes were closed following the crash, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation, leading to traffic delays for several hours.

All lanes were re-opened by 6:25 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
