LOUISVILLE, KY : 1 dead following accident involving moped on I-264 in Louisville on Friday, 30th October, 2020

The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating after officials say the driver of a moped was killed Friday night.

The driver of a moped was traveling in the first lane WB on I-264 near Third Street around 11 p.m. Friday, according to investigators. The moped operator then veered into the path of another vehicle traveling on I-264.Officials say the vehicle then rear ended the moped causing the driver to separate from the bike. A third vehicle also traveling WB on I-264 struck the moped operator, who was lying in the roadway.

The moped driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicles remained on scene.
